Dental Implants

Dental implants are a safe and reliable way to replace missing teeth. If you have any missing teeth, it can be hard to chew your food and maintain good oral health. A dental implant is a post that's been surgically placed in the jawbone, which will provide support for an artificial tooth (or set of teeth) that we will place over the top of it. This process has been around for decades, but many people don't know about it because they're not as common as some other treatments like dentures or bridges. At Highridge Dental Care, we have professionals who can take care of these implants to your complete satisfaction.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are titanium posts that replace your tooth root and support a dental crown, denture, or bridge. Implants can be used to treat patients who have lost one or more teeth due to injury, illness such as diabetes, or multiple missing teeth.

A dental implant is a medical device made of metal, usually titanium. It is placed in the jawbone where its stem fits down into the hollow area under the gum tissue. The dental implant can last permanently embedded in the jawbone without any discomfort. The top part of an implanted appliance will usually remain visible outside the gums (the dental crown).

Why Choose A Dental Implant Over Other Treatments?

Implants are a more permanent and natural-looking solution than other treatments. Unlike dentures, implants don't slide around in your mouth or feel awkward to eat with. They also provide better chewing ability by stabilizing the jawbone when you close your teeth together. Dental implants can be an alternative treatment for those who cannot wear traditional dental prostheses, such as those missing all of their upper teeth in addition to having bone loss that is too severe for conventional bridges, which need stable and intact adjacent tooth roots on each side of the gap.

Benefits Of Dental Implants

A popular alternative to dentures and partials, dental implants are a safe and effective way of replacing missing teeth. They can be used in patients with one or more gaps as well as those who have lost all of their natural teeth. Dental implants last longer than other tooth-replacement methods because they're anchored securely into the jawbone. This is similar to how your own real teeth are attached from within your gum line. Dental implants offer stability for chewing and provide correct spacing so that adjacent teeth won't shift over time due to the loosening of surrounding bone tissue, which often occurs after the loss of neighboring teeth. Patients may find comfort knowing that if needed, implants can easily be removed without altering any underlying molars (real or implant-supported).
